Southwest Airlines is based at Love Field, Dallas, Texas. Although Southwest flies into many other airports, it is primarily known for it's service to Texas cities and adjoining states.

Enclosed in this package are flight plans (created for use in FSNavigator Ver. 4.60) for Southwest flights from Dallas (KDAL) to Austin, TX, Amarillo, TX, Corpus Christi, TX, El Paso,TX, Harligen,TX, Houston, TX, (Hobby airport), Little Rock, AK, Lubbock, TX, Midland-Odessa, TX, New Orleans, LA, Oklahoma City, OK and San Antonio, TX.. Flight plans in text and GPS format are also included.

Suggested 737 Aircraft:

Boeing 737 Southwest Airlines (Original and/or New Colors) from the following site:

Note: Be sure to get the UPDATE file also - has improved flight dynamics!

YEODESIGNS BOEING 737-200 V2 Southwest yd732v2southwest.zip

available at http://www.SurClaro.com

or the default b737-400 aircraft in FS2002-Pro.
Repaints in Southwest colors can be found at several sites.

I highly recommend the free add-on FSNavigator guage which is available from their website: FSNAVIGATOR.com. It is installed on your panel and makes switching in and out of FS controlled autopilot and/or navigation very simple.

This and the latest version of FSNavigator (as of 10/2003 it is 4.60) make for a great flying experience!

Installation of Flight Plans:

Extract or otherwise place the plans (.fsn) in the following directory:

E:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\MODULES\FSNavigator\Plan

(substitute your hard-drive partion letter for the E)

If you wish to make use of the GPS flight plans, unzip the MYFLTS.zip into your MYFLGTS directory. Typically this would be:

E:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\flights\myflts
(substitute your hard-drive partion letter for the E)

I found that using the autopilot and FSNavigator I could get the "feel" of how jet aircraft should be lined up to the runway prior to landing. After a bit of practice I could then turn off the autopilot and land manually as real pilots are required to do 1 out of 3 landings.

Oh yes, I almost forgot - there is also a plan for a return trip to Dallas from Midland-Odessa and Little Rock, Arkansas in the package.

Enjoy!
